If anyone has a good sense of computer engineering / design and Apple tech, I would be grateful for your thoughts. I am concerned that I'm going to plunk down thousands on a device that will never run to full capacity and/or will die an early death in a few years from heat damage. A new firmware patch rolling out today may alleviate the problems.
